AMERICAN SHURI-RYU KARATE
MISSION STATEMENT
It is our goal to teach the art of
Karate from a realistic and scientific basis. This is
accomplished by the adherence and incorporation of traditional
Okinawan Shuri-Ryu techniques with Americanized mixed martial
arts techniques. The Americanized Shuri-Ryu system has
incorporated fighting philosophies and academic concepts of the
following Martial Arts but not limited to any.
Okinawan Karate
Japanese Karate
Chinese systems
Korean systems
Jeet Kune do concepts
Kick Boxing concepts
Jujitsu
\ Judo \ Aikido concepts
And any forms of self defense
worth incorporating; techniques, teaching principles, fighting
concepts, and academic principles have been added or deleted
with one test formula in mind.
This one test formula concept is
whether or not a technique, teaching principle, fighting
concept, and academic principle meets the test of being a
simplistic, economical, and efficient tool in the realm of
street oriented self defense or Martial Arts competitive arena.
Thus developing the mind, body,
spirit of the Karateka - Martial Artist. It is our goal to
develop the student to his/her best and natural potential. The
ultimate goal is to develop a student with superior self defense
skills, as well as inter personal skills such as responsibility,
honesty, dedication, and respect for man kind. |
